TE Connectivity Lowers Emissions by 39%

TE Connectivity, a Swiss company that manufactures connectors and sensors, made significant strides over the past year in meeting its sustainability goals; in fiscal year 2023, the company lowered its absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 39%.

Overall, the reduction of Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions directly generated by the company were reduced by 72% since 2020.

TE also committed to lower indirect Scope 3 emissions resulting from its value chain by 30% by 2032 (against a 2022 baseline).

Additionally, the company announced that 77% of its electricity now comes from renewable sources.

TE's greenhouse gas goals were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and details were announced in its annual corporate responsibility report.

"TE's One Connected World strategy guides our sustainability journey," said CEO Terrence Curtin, in a statement. "I am proud of what we have accomplished so far and our smart path forward to reach our 2030 goals, which not only address carbon reduction, but also drive innovation, making sustainability a business enabler."
