Global energy efficiency retrofits for buildings on the rise, report finds

Global revenue for energy efficiency retrofits in commercial buildings is expected to grow from $71.4 billion in 2016 to $100.8 billion in 2025, according to a new report from Navigant Research. 

The report examines the state of the global market for energy efficiency retrofits in commercial and public buildings, with analysis of market and technology issues, plus global market forecasts segmented by region, product and service type, and building type, through 2025.

Navigant said in announcing the report's release that commercial building owners and tenants see significant benefits from energy efficiency in the form of increased property value, improved worker satisfaction, and the availability of green marketing efforts.

Steady global growth in the market for energy efficiency commercial building retrofits is expected during the next decade, according to the report. Asia Pacific is expected to lead in revenue market share with 36% in 2016, driven by an increase in regulations and incentives specifically in China and Japan.
