Colorado State University starts campus-wide solar installations
Colorado State University announced March 18 that work has begun on the construction of 5.5 MW of solar power capacity across 21 sites at its Fort Collins campus.
The university first chose Namasté Solar and financial partner Solaris Energy to execute the project in October 2020. The 21 solar power sites are expected to produce 7,532 MWh of clean electricity for CSU each year.
CSU completed a 25-year PPA with Solaris Energy, through which they will receive the energy produced by the solar installations. CSU will retain ownership of Renewable Energy Credits attributed to the new systems, and Solaris Energy will own and manage the systems as a part of its larger asset portfolio.

We’re proud to be a piece of the magic.”
The project is expected to be completed by late 2022. The solar panels will be installed on rooftops, carports, and as a ground mount at a sheep pasture across the campus.
CSU is currently pursuing its goals to source 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and be carbon neutral by 2050. The university already has 6.8 MW of onsite solar installed on campus.
