L'Oréal Paris to Reduce Carbon Footprint 50%, Fund €10M for the Environment

L'Oréal Paris announced that it will reduce its carbon footprint 50% by 2030. The cosmetic company will also contribute 10 million Euros to environmental projects that will benefit women around the world. These goals are part of their new sustainability program, "L'Oréal For the Future, Because our Planet is Worth it."

In a statement, Delphine Viguier-Hovasse, Global Brand President, L'Oréal Paris said, "We are not starting from scratch. Between 2005 and 2020, our factories and distribution centers have already reduced CO2 emissions by 82%. The company remains strong in its resolve to make a difference and play its part in the race against climate change. The goals align with that of parent company L’ Oréal Group.

L'Oréal Paris products are made in 26 factories around the world, eleven of which are already carbon neutral (using 100% renewable energy, without offsetting). The rest will reach this goal in 2025. The company’s goal for transport is to reduce carbon emissions intensity by 50% for each product by 2030.

The company’s investment of 10 million Euros toward environmental projects that empower women will fund six carbon projects that will specifically benefit women around the world. In addition to financial support, L'Oréal Paris will develop women’s leadership positions with the funds. The projects will help women develop needed skills through courses on leadership, financial independence, and health.
