o9 Solutions Explores Science Based Targets
o9 Solutions recently announced that it is committed to setting science-based emissions reduction targets across its value chain and has joined SBTi’s Business Ambition for 1.5°C pledge.
With this commitment, the AI business planning platform also intends to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. The company intends to reach the goals of the Paris Agreement by adhering to these new commitments.
“Social impact is a key part of the DNA of o9 Solutions,” COO Igor Rikalo said in a statement. “We help companies with better forecasting and decision making so that they can make better use of the Earth's resources. It is important to lead by example and that is why we have selected the Science-Based Targets initiative. We believe that decisions based on research and data are the most effective way to contribute to a positive change to our world.”
The company is now undergoing a process of reviewing its carbon footprint concerning energy usage, travel and commuting to establish a baseline and create new targets based on this research by May 2023.
