Air Force, Navy teams square off in DOE web series

At the rare intersection of energy efficiency and reality television, the U.S. DOE has launched season two of its spin on ABC's Wife Swap featuring two rival military divisions.
The three-part web series, produced by the DOE's Better Buildings Challenge program, covers a two-day swap of energy teams from the U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy intended to improve the energy efficiency of each one's campus. The series follows the Better Buildings program's first crack at the show in season one, which saw Whole Foods Market and Hilton Worldwide trade energy management teams at facilities in San Francisco.
"The teams learn from each other that they can apply simple behavioral changes to help students and faculty be more mindful about lighting usage and plug loads in classrooms when not in use," the energy department said in announcing season two.
