SED’s June RE Forum Sells Out; Second-Half 2021 Events Firmed Up

Smart Energy Decisions’ Summer Renewable Energy Forum is set to take place June 7-10 with a full roster of renewable energy buyers from almost 60 large power users and two dozen leading industry suppliers led by Presenting Sponsor NRG, who will convene on SED’s Virtual EventHub with the goal of “Collaborating for a Net Zero Future.”

The Renewable Energy Forum is SED’s fifth virtual event featuring an exclusive mix of general sessions, buyer-only peer-to-peer networking, and one-to-one meetings between buyers and suppliers. SED’s Virtual EventHub is widely recognized as the most effective alternative to live in-person meetings in the industry creating unmatched opportunities for large electric power users and their suppliers. “The research that the Smart Energy Decisions team does helps really focus our discussions and can lead to actionable outcomes for both the buyers and the sellers,”: said Jaime Jankowski, Business Development, AEP Energy.” Remarking on the networking opportunities, Emma Cox, Global Renewable Lead, McDonald's, noted, “We all come together and we’re all trying to accomplish the same goal.” SED’s second Town Hall and Peer2Peer sessions will provide exclusive opportunities for buyers to network and collaborate on issues of the highest concern.

Keynote speakers include Zephyr Taylor, Global Director of Renewable Energy, Mars, Inc., and Victor Udo, Director of Sustainability, Bucknell University. SED’s acclaimed “Inspiring Diversity in Energy” series continues with Ajulo Othow, CEO, EnerWealth Solutions and Dana Clare Redden, CEO, Solar Stewards. Supplier sessions will feature “Capitalizing on Opportunities in Community Solar” with NRG Energy, “A Guide to Addressing your Scope 3 Value Chain Emissions” with 3Degrees, and a session with ENGIE Impact. Preconference workshops will dig deep on issues including The State of Fleet Electrification, presented in partnership with NRG featuring exclusive SED research, and a workshop on Solar + Storage, produced in partnership with Photosol US.

In the second half of 2021, the SED community will return to SED’s Virtual EventHub for Smart Energy Decisions’ sixth virtual event, the Distributed Energy Forum, September 13-15, 2021. The theme, “DER’s Role in Your Sustainability Strategy” will offer energy and sustainability executives at all levels of their sustainability journey the opportunity to learn how DER’s can help achieve sustainability goals, learn from peers in buyers-only sessions, and meeting with leading suppliers of distributed energy resource technologies. SED Founder & Editorial Director, John Failla said “The tsunami of corporate commitments to carbon emission reduction targets has made energy efficiency and distributed energy resources more important than ever. As the only event focused on this growing area of interest, we look forward to a great Distributed Energy Forum in September”.

Smart Energy Decisions will end the year with a much-anticipated return to live in-person events at the winter edition of the Renewable Energy Forum, December 6-8, 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach, California. The 8th edition of the Renewable Energy Forum will unite buyers and suppliers with a look back at successful renewable programs and a look ahead at cutting-edge sourcing and financing strategies.
