Lane College Plans Energy Efficiency Upgrades to Historic Campus

Lane College announced July 14 that it expects to save around $11 million through energy efficiency upgrades to its Jackson, Tenn., campus.

The university will be implementing an LED lighting retrofit, HVAC upgrades and the installation of new aluminum windows to improve envelope efficiency campus-wide with the help of energy services company Entegrity.

The upgrades are also meant to improve the air quality of campus buildings to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 without compromising the historic appeal of the campus’ buildings.

“We wanted to address these changes creatively while also building a better environment for the students,” Dr. Hampton, president at the college, said in a statement. “This project allows us to focus on our current students while preparing our facilities for the future graduates of Lane College for years to come.”
