StreetLights Residential Adds EV Charging to Apartment Buildings

StreetLights Residental will soon be installing over 100 electric vehicle charging stations at its multifamily communities in six states across the United States.

The urban developer is partnering with Xeal to install the chargers at 14 different communities, including 30 at a new high-rise community in Atlanta that will open in Spring 2023.

Xeal’s charging platform offers power optimization that will allow the buildings to install up to three times as many charging stations without additional electrical updates and a distributed connectivity solution that doesn’t rely on a central server or IT infrastructure to initiative a charging session.

"Reliable EV charging that provides 100% uptime is important not just to our residents but to StreetLights, as well," Robert de Bruin, President of StreetLights Residential, said in a statement. "We are committed to providing our residents with dependable solutions that align with our organization's ESG goals. StreetLights is sensitive to the impact our industry makes, and we are fully committed to doing our part to provide a better future for our residents and the neighborhoods and cities in which we live. We look forward to working with Xeal as a forward-thinking partner in planning and executing our sustainability goals."
