Valmont Industries Lowers Scope 1,2 Emissons By 10%

Valmont Industries, Inc., a company that provides infrastructure and advances agricultural productivity through technology, lowered Scope 1 and 2 carbon intensity by 10%, global electric usage by 12% and Scope I mobile source combustion fuel carbon emissions by 19%.

The company also expanded its solar footprint by adding solar arrays in Minto, Australia, Indapur Taluka, India, Uberaba, Brazil and Bristol, Indiana.

Details were provided in its 2023 Sustainability Report, the company’s eighth report since 2015.

“Continuous improvement is one of our core values at Valmont and is solidly demonstrated in our sustainability journey,” said Stephen G. Kaniewski, President and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement. “Valmont has significantly reduced its manufacturing facilities’ environmental footprint in the past five years, reducing energy and normalized emissions by 43% and combustion fuel mobile source emissions by 27%. In that same period, revenues at Valmont increased by nearly $1.6 billion dollars.”
