Voluntary and corporate renewable energy in the Northeast: Barriers and opportunities for growth
This policy brief, the first of three prepared by the Center for Resource Solutions and the Pace Energy and Climate Center focused on voluntary renewable energy in the Northeast, explains the current and potential value of voluntary renewable energy to meet state goals in the region.
It also identifies key barriers to renewable energy development to meet voluntary and corporate demand and potential opportunities and solutions for overcoming them. The two clearest opportunities for growing voluntary renewable energy in the Northeast, the report finds, are corporate renewable energy procurement and community renewables programs (also called community choice aggregation or municipal electric aggregation).
