Dates and keynotes announced for SED’s 2019 Innovation Summit

Smart Energy Decisions has announced plans for the 2019 edition of the Innovation Summit, which will take place March 11-13, 2019 at the Houstonian in Houston, Texas. Building on the success of the first two Summits, this invitation-only event will focus on "The Future of Energy Management," addressing topics from all aspects of the corporate energy management supply chain from procurement through demand management.

Three keynote speakers from commercial, industrial, and higher education sectors with leading-edge energy management programs have been confirmed for the Summit:

  • Michael Barry, head of sustainable business operations, Bloomberg LP
  • Devan Tracy, senior project engineer, Lockheed Martin
  • Jesse Warren, sustainability program manager for buildings & operations, University of Virginia

The Summit will also host a gala dinner to celebrate winners of the second annual Smart Energy Decisions Innovation Awards. This program was created last year to recognize the individual and collective efforts of large electric power users, their suppliers, and their utilities in support of the energy transformation currently taking place. A variety of Innovation Awards will be presented in two categories: customer project awards and utility partnership awards.

Smart Energy Decisions’ Supply Chain Initiative will also be a focus at the Summit, to help maturing adopters of renewable energy engage with their supply chains while helping their suppliers by delivering renewable energy sourcing education, peer-to-peer networking, and connections to renewable energy suppliers.

Designed and programmed with input from the Smart Energy Decisions advisory board, the conference will feature forward-looking content focused on strategy in both the supply and demand sides of energy management. Programming a blend of keynote addresses, energy executive-only sessions, panel discussions, private boardroom briefings and one-to-one meetings with suppliers, the objective of the Innovation Summit is to help attendees learn from best practices, make new connections and discover solutions that will help improve their company's results and reduce carbon emissions.

"We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our advisory board to create an intimate industry event that will focus on energy management strategy and the unique challenges faced by large electric power customers on both sides of the meter," Smart Energy Decisions Founder and Editorial Director John Failla said.

Attendance at the 2019  Innovation Summit is limited to qualified energy, sustainability, and facility management executives and supplier sponsors. To learn more and request an invitation, visit the Summit website.
