Pitney Bowes cuts emissions 8%

Pitney Bowes, a global tech company focusing on postage equipment and e-commerce software, saw an 8% reduction in emissions since 2015 and implemented three LED lighting retrofit projects, earning them recognition with the 2020 Climate Leadership Award for Excellence in Greenhouse Gas Management.

Recipients of this award are recognized for corporate, organizational and individual leadership in reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change. In addition to reducing emissions and implementing LED retrofits, Pitney Bowes also decreased their carbon footprint by reducing their office space by more than 2.6 million square feet.

“Sustainability has been a focus for Pitney Bowes for some time,” Daniel Goldstein, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Pitney Bowes, said in a statement. “Today, we are more motivated than ever to continue to do ‘the right thing, the right way’ for our stakeholders, from clients and employees to the communities where we operate and the environment we all share. Taking action on climate change is more important than it’s ever been. We are inspired and honored to be in the company of so many outstanding U.S. organizations awarded tonight.”

Additionally, Pitney Bowes optimized their fleet by condensing in-house routes, reducing driver and vehicles and adding newly acquired businesses to existing business routes, while implementing reduced fuel use strategies.
