Gen Decreases Emissions by 22%
Gen, a cybersecurity, online privacy and identity protection company, announced it achieved a 22% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions and a 7% decrease in Scope 3 emissions.
These reductions occurred with the streamlining of its physical locations and data centers. At the company’s facilities, Gen continued to optimize HVAC22 use, transitioned to more efficient lighting and installed motion lighting for remodels.
Gen's building management system (BMS) controls and monitors energy consuming systems.
In 2024, Gen requested that its Tier 1 physical product suppliers agree to the social impact requirements outlined in its Global Supplier Code of Conduct. Gen is also working with its suppliers to measure transport-related emissions on a quarterly basis. This helps uncover opportunities to optimize product transportation, which is expected to reduce both costs and related emissions.
The company is listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI) for its sustainability efforts.
Details were released in its fiscal year 2024 Social Impact Report.
