Shiloh Industries introduces two RE-powered plants in Europe

Shiloh Industries announced Feb. 18 that they are continuing toward their goal of carbon neutrality with the addition of two facilities using 100% certified renewable electrical energy in Europe.

The two new facilities that the producer of lightweighting, noise and vibration technology has began using renewables to power are located in Olofström, Sweden and Oss, Netherlands. Back in North America, their manufacturing plants in Warren, Roseville and Plymouth, Mich., recently enrolled in a green power program, which will begin in January 2021.

“Our focus on the environment has guided our product strategy, technology development, manufacturing operations and investments for over six years,” President and CEO Ramzi Hermiz said in a statement. “Shiloh continues to partner with our energy providers, equipment manufacturers, suppliers and customers to identify additional opportunities to support our goal of carbon neutrality by 2035.”

In addition to those five plants, twelve other facilities use clean energy at levels that range from 19% and 63%. They have previously set a goal to achieve 100% renewable energy across all of their locations globally.

Another energy initiative the company has implemented is investing 100% of R&D funds into technology that results in cleaner and more efficient manufacturing processes.
