Energy Manager Co-funding: You Can't Manage Without a Manager

This report by the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project, or SWEEP, details a number of utility programs that provide funding to help industrial customers hire an on-site energy manager.

According to the report, these programs help large customers overcome one of their most significant barriers to improved energy efficiency: the lack of staff time and expertise. Providing incentives to help these customers hire an energy manager allows them to participate more fully in the utilities’ existing energy efficiency programs, leading to much greater energy savings.

If well-designed, SWEEP says, energy manager funding programs are cost-effective to utilities and can also lead to ongoing engagement and energy savings from large customers.

SWEEP is a public interest organization promoting greater energy efficiency in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
