MetLife Reduces Emissions by 49%

MetLife reports is has lowered its GHG emissions by 49% since 2019 and also maintained carbon neutrality.

The financial services company also secured over $77 billion in responsible investments managed by MetLife Investment Management as of year-end 2022.

MetLife is committed to net zero GHG emissions for its global operations and General Account investment portfolio by 2050 or sooner.

The company’s goals include maintaining carbon neutrality annually for its global offices, vehicle fleets and employee business travel by supporting high-quality carbon offset projects that align with UN SDGs to the extent possible and supporting renewable electricity technologies by purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).

Details were provided in its 2022 Sustainability Report.
