AstraZeneca, Lonza, Novartis, Novo Nordisk and Roche signed a three-year renewable energy supply agreement for 200 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green power annually, starting in 2024.

The agreement between the five pharmaceutical companies and Envision Energy, a green technology company, will result in annual carbon dioxide equivalent savings of approximately 120,000 tons, according to a statement.

The three-year renewable energy supply agreement was announced during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Four of the companies – AstraZeneca, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, and Roche – are members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative Health Systems Task Force, which was launched by His Majesty King Charles III.
