Social media company Meta announced it will add solar generation in Idaho.
The company signed the agreement with Matrix Renewables, a global renewable energy platform backed by TPG Rise and majority owner, and rPlus Energies, development partner and minority owner.
Meta will commission Pleasant Valley Solar 1, a solar power generation facility in Ada County, Idaho, with a capacity of approximately 200 MWac / 261 MWdc, making it the largest operational solar facility in Idaho Power’s system.
Pleasant Valley Solar 1 includes a power purchase agreement (PPA) that was secured through negotiation with Meta and Idaho Power.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the commissioning of the Pleasant Valley Solar Project,” said Cindy Tindell, Managing Director and Head of U.S. for Matrix Renewables, in a statement. “This achievement underscores our commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure and contributing to local communities. We are grateful for the collaborative efforts of our partners, off takers, financiers, and the supporting community who made this project possible.”
Sundt Renewables, the chosen Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services provider, completed construction of the project in March.
