Morgan Stanley to roll out LED solutions to 600+ branches

Morgan Stanley announced a new energy efficiency program that includes a turnkey LED lighting and digital controls solution to reduce lighting-related energy consumption by as much as 50% in some locations. The company is partnering with Current by GE to evaluate energy savings opportunities at more than 600 Morgan Stanley Wealth Management retail branches. The project is expected to begin later this month and continue in phases over the next few years, providing enterprise-level energy management and visibility.

Morgan Stanley has committed to reducing energy usage by 20% by 2022 from a 2012 baseline. A statement from Current by GE noted that according to the Department of Energy, only 12% of U.S. commercial and retail buildings had transitioned to LED lighting solutions as of 2015. Lighting represents approximately 40% of energy consumption for commercial buildings.
