Indiana Pacers training facility to install solar + battery storage
Pacers Sports & Entertainment recently announced that they are installing a rooftop solar project at the St. Vincent Center in downtown Indianapolis that will provide solar power and energy storage for the facility.
The complex is planning a microgrid in collaboration with Electro Green Energy Solutions and iSolar Brokers that will power the fourth floor of the 130,000-square-foot St. Vincent Center, Inside Indiana Business reported.
“We are proud of our continued efforts to make our facilities as clean and green as possible,” PS&E President Rick Fuson told the publication. “This project aligns perfectly with our overall mission, and we are grateful to EGES and I-Solar Brokers for their partnership.”
The energy storage project is the sports facility’s latest sustainability endeavor, in addition to efforts in converting non-recyclable waste to energy, other recycling measures and staging zero-waste events.
The St. Vincent Center opened in 2017 and provides primary care services to the public, in addition to housing two practice courts and training space for the Indiana Pacers.
