Murphy Oil Lowers Emissions by 25%, Methane Intensity by 34%

Murphy Oil Corporation announced that it lowered GHG emissions intensity by 25%, reduced methane intensity by 34% and reduced flaring intensity by 60% from 2019 to 2022.

The oil company also received third-party assurance of GHG Scope 1 and 2 absolute data for a third consecutive year and also enhanced accountability by increasing ESG metrics weighting in its annual incentive plan in 2022.

Murphy released details in its 2023 Sustainability Report, which covers the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and progress on established targets.
