Graco Installs Solar at New Facility in Minnesota

Graco Inc., a manufacturer of fluid handling equipment, installed a 1.4-megawatt solar array at its new facility in Dayton, Minnesota, that will supply 20% of the facility’s electricity needs.

The solar array consists of over 3,100 rooftop solar panels. Over the next 30 years, it is expected to offset over 23,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

The company also published the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) index for Industrial Machinery and Goods.

Details were released in its 2022 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report.

“Our 2022 report builds upon the data shared in last year’s report, which we believe provides additional useful information for our shareholders,” said Mark Sheahan, president and chief executive officer, in a statement. "We are well positioned to have an even greater impact as we continue to make progress in managing, measuring and reporting on ESG topics. We are focused on delivering the same continuous improvement in ESG that we do in all facets of our business. This report provides transparency for our stakeholders and keeps us accountable."

Other key achievements in the report include expanding the company’s emissions data collection to include its global operations, donating $1.2 million to community nonprofits through the Graco Foundation, donating $250,000 in matching gifts, and achieving 26% of total sales from electricity-powered products in 2022.
