o9 Solutions' Goals Validated by SBTi

o9 Solutions, an enterprise AI software platform provider for transforming planning and decision making, announced the submission of its science-based emission reduction targets was validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The company submitted one long-term and two short-term science-based targets in 2023 and committed to reaching net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2040 from a 2022 base year.

As a near-term target, o9 commits to lowering absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, measured against a 2022 baseline year. The company also commits to ensuring that by 2028, 90% of its suppliers by emissions, spanning purchased goods and services, will have adopted science-based targets, also benchmarked against a 2022 baseline.

The company's long-term target is to lower absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2040 from a 2022 base year. o9 Solutions also commits to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 90% within the same timeframe.

Using its proprietary Digital Brain platform, o9 will identify strategic enhancements within its value chain. The company already initiated a comprehensive supplier engagement strategy, modifying the o9 code of conduct to resonate with these targets.

“Setting and validating our science-based targets underscores o9's unwavering commitment to a sustainable future,” said Chakri Gottemukala, Co-founder and CEO of o9 Solutions, in a statement. "These targets drive our operational excellence and amplify our role in fostering environmental responsibility across the industry. By aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative, o9 joins the many other companies committed to working to a more sustainable world.”
