Microsoft, Salesforce, Switch & GM lead RE Sourcing Forum Program

Executives from Microsoft, Salesforce, Switch and General Motors will be featured speakers at the Spring edition of Smart Energy Decisions’ Renewable Energy Sourcing Forum (RESF) on June 18-20 at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego.

The event will feature keynote presentations from Brian Janous, general manager of energy strategy at Microsoft who will address opportunities for driving growth in renewable energy sourcing, and Patrick Flynn, senior director of sustainability at Salesforce, who will discuss the company’s journey with renewable energy sourcing.

In a special joint session, Sam Castor, executive vice president of policy at Switch and Rob Threlkeld, global manager of renewable energy at General Motors will share their experience in partnering on the innovative new green tariff program developed with Consumers Energy in Michigan.

Developed with input from the Smart Energy Decisions Advisory Board, the RESF’s 2018 program theme "Creating and executing your renewable energy sourcing strategy" will address the needs of both experienced and new renewable energy buyers. Through a blend of keynote presentations, energy executive-only sessions, panels, case study presentations and one-on-one meetings with suppliers, topics on deck at the event—SED’s first West Coast event-- include developing RE sourcing strategies, renewable energy product options, risk management strategies, lessons learned and pitfalls to avoid, sourcing in regulated and deregulated markets, and more. The event kicks off with two special concurrent pre-conference workshops – "Getting Started in Renewable Energy Sourcing" and 'Policy & Markets Outlook for Experienced Buyers".

"We're extremely fortunate to have the active engagement and thoughtful input of our steering committee and advisory board," said John Failla, Founder & Editorial Director of Smart Energy Decisions. "Their counsel has helped shape an event that is perfectly aligned with our mission to advance adoption of corporate renewable energy sourcing."

The Renewable Energy Sourcing Forum is an invitation only event open to qualified energy management, sustainability and facility management executives at commercial and industrial companies and institutional organizations. In addition, a limited number of supplier sponsorships are available to product and service providers with a proven track record.
