Six Flags begins solar project in NJ
Construction has begun on a 23.5-megawatt solar photovoltaic system in Jackson, N.J., which will produce approximately 30 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity in its first year and supply Six Flags Great Adventure with renewable energy for virtually all its electric load at the park.
According to a statement, the project will be the largest net metered solar installation in New Jersey. KDC Solar LLC will own and operate the facility. Alan Epstein, president and CEO said, "We are very pleased and proud to have been selected by Six Flags Great Adventure for this groundbreaking solar project."
In February, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced an initiative to power two of its theme parks in California almost entirely with solar power.
