Energy and Tech Leaders Invest in Fund for Advancing Net Zero Solutions

Energy Impact Partners LP announced Nov. 11 that it has closed on its sustainability fund with over $1 billion in capital commitments.

The VC firm’s Flagship Fund is used to invest in the utility, energy, real estate, mobility and industrial sectors in the pursuit of accelerating the transition to net-zero emissions. The fund has already made investments in more than a dozen tech companies.

The climate tech fund is made up of contributions from corporate partners and investors such as Alliant Energy, Ameren Corp., AvalonBay, Avista Corp., Burns & McDonnell, Cox Enterprises, Duke Energy, EDF Group, Emera Inc., ENMAX Corporation, Entergy Corporation, Enterprise Holdings, Evergy Inc., FirstEnergy Corp., Fortis Inc., Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc., Hydro One Ltd, MGE Energy, Inc., Microsoft, OGE Energy Corp., Park Hotels & Resorts, Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, Portland General Electric Company, PPL Corporation, Public Storage, Southern Company, TC Energy Corporation, Tennessee Valley Authority Asset Retirement Trust, Williams and Xcel Energy.

EIP manages more than $2 billion in assets and is made up of investors, researchers and technologies to help the firm’s partners with their own net-zero transitions. The firm’s climate-focused venture technology portfolio includes over 75 investments, ranging from technology start-ups to established enterprise platforms.
