IKEA announced the opening on Oct. 10 of a 1.25-million-square-foot distribution center in Joiliet, Illinois, 48 miles southwest of Chicago. The facility features a 268,920-square-foot solar array built with 9,036 solar panels, currently the largest in Illinois.

Impact Plastics, a custom sheet extrusion company based in Connecticut, recently completed a 375,040-watt rooftop solar system to power its main facility.
